“Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.”
Last year was rather bittersweet. We expanded our team and grew in success but we also lost a member of our family. Often times, we never get over the loss of our beloveds. They rest inside our broken hearts that never seem to seal. However, just like coping with a broken leg that never fully heals, we learned to dance with a limp.
Sheldon Sampson was an esteemed member of our team and close childhood friend of our head tailor. He was always proud and supportive of the creations born within our atelier and never hesitated to share our story with the world. He was the kind of man that filled a room with his warmth and brightened any day with his smile. A family man as well as a hard worker, Sheldon was the son-in-law to one of the world's most interesting men. Before he passed, Sheldon had enlisted that we make a suit for his father-in-law as a gift. A man who grew to love Sheldon as his very own, Mr C is a salesman who never fails to tell a riveting story.
Mr C's visit brought on the fondest memories of our dear friend. As we dressed him in a striking navy suit made of Dormeuil fabric, we listened attentively to his vibrant stories of Sheldon and let laughter fill our atelier once again. The suit itself is a creation our late friend would have certainly approved off. The structured jacket is outfitted with peak lapels and angled pockets while the double-breasted vest is finished with a vibrant paisley lining.
There is no instant remedy for sorrow and while our hearts grieve for what we have lost, our spirits will forever rejoice over all that Sheldon has left.
